Mainstay
Mainstay Provisions

Loved by all who walk through their doors, Mainstay Provisions at The Palms is the family-owned company’s third cafe, joining their Ballard and Denny Triangle locations. Mainstay is owned and operated by Ballardites Thom Koschwanez and Ashley Thompson in partnership with Thom’s parents, John and Katherine Koschwanez. Thom is a chef-alumnus of Ethan Stowell Restaurants with 25 years in the restaurant industry. The Mainstay team utilizes fresh, unique ingredients curated to highlight techniques one usually reserves for fine dining, but with prices one hopes to find at their corner store. We’ll sum it up in one word for you: YUM!

selkirk
Selkirk

The Palms is proud to offer Selkirk paddles and gear in our Pro Shop. A pickleball-only, community-focused organization, Selkirk is also a PNW family-owned business. This seems to be a trend! But seriously, we chose to partner with Selkirk because of their exceptional quality and range of products for everyone from beginners to players aspiring to join The PPA Tour.

playsight
Playsight

Every court at The Palms will include on-court cameras, large format review screens and PlaySight technology. Our four Premier Courts include an additional camera at the kitchen for more insight into your technique. In addition, the technology on all 20 courts sends video content directly to your phone so it is easy to engage with. PlaySight is a resource utilized by sports teams and sports facilities all across the United States including pro teams like our neighbors, the Seattle Storm. It’s pretty cool. But what will it do for you?

  • Recording – Review your play with on-demand cameras that film at 60 frames per second.
  • Instant Replay – Now you really can see if that shot WAS in. But more importantly, you can actually see your own form and review your game, either on your own, or with a coach to provide some helpful and friendly feedback.
  • AI learning – PlaySight includes AI technology that leverages video taken during a match to give analysis and feedback on your game, your technique and more! Think of PlaySight as your smart watch, providing details on everything from how many backhand shots you had to insight on your scoring.
  • General boasting – Want to show the world how amazing your game is? Video content from PlaySight is sharable – email, text and socials too!

The Pickle shots – Kris Ladera

If you’ve wondered how we capture the joy, competitiveness, happiness—and yes, even the frustration—of pickleball in still images, wonder no more. Meet Kris Ladera, the photographer behind The Pickle Shots. Kris has been providing us with incredible imagery since our initial splash page, and we’re excited to continue partnering with him as we open The Palms to the public.

Kris is a wedding and family photographer who brings his eye for storytelling to the world of pickleball. His love for the game makes The Pickle Shots a natural extension of his work.
