Especially with younger juniors, we want kids to fall in love with the game before worrying about competition.

Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where juniors make friends, build confidence, and enjoy being active.

Skill development and athletic movement
Juniors are learning coordination, footwork, teamwork, and court awareness, not just pickleball shots. 

Progression-based learning
Junior picklers can move through a pathway from their first paddle touches all the way to competitive play.

Clear development pathway
Programs build on each other so kids can grow within the system rather than jumping randomly between classes.

Kid-loving teaching staff
Junior coaches are hired specifically for their ability to work with kids, and to make learning pickleball fun!

 Junior Play + Pickleball Classes

Juniors are initially grouped by age, which helps friendships to grow. Players are then separated into classes by ability to ensure they are learning with others at a similar level.

Mondays - Junior Clinics
Mondays are age-based Junior clinic days!

4:00 – 5:00 pm:

  • Ages 5-7
  • 1 hour clinic / game play

5:00 – 7:00 pm:

  • Sessions for three additional age groups – Ages 10 & Under, Ages 13 & Under and Ages 18 & Under
  • 1-hour clinic followed by 1-hour game play

Tuesdays are junior AGE-BASED league days!

What: Round robin style format with rotating partners for 5-weeks and a 1-week mini tournament!

Family Open Play

Families that play together have fun together! Come join other pickleballing families every weekend for Family Open Play. Courts are set aside for families to mix and play together. Grandparents, parents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles and Funcles, Moms, Dads, as long as you have some kiddos in tow, you are welcome to join.

Sideline Suppers – Dink + Dine

Pizza and a movie is so 2025. Just ask your teenagers. Mix up your Family Game Night with our Sideline Suppers. Come join us for open play + supper at Mainstay Provisions at The Palms. Mainstay is the Sunday destination for a family supper, perfect for dinking + dining while you happily endure ribbing from your kids. Never fear, they do have beer (and wine – 21+).

Court reservations are always family-friendly at The Palms. Adult members and junior members can reserve courts for the entire family to play together, anytime.

 Junior Pickleball FAQs

What ages are considered to be juniors?

Ages 5-17. Children under 5 have typically not yet developed the coordination required to learn to play pickleball.  

Does The Palms offer a Junior Membership? What does it cost?

Yes! The Palms offers a Junior Membership for kids ages 5-17. The annual cost is $150. Juniors then pay when they play, just like adult members. Juniors who play multiple days a week can also purchase an Open Play Pass or a Rally Pass.

Does the Palms offer open play sessions for juniors only?

Yes! Junior-only open play sessions are offered during non-school hours. Junior open play sessions are 2-hours in length and cost $20 per player ($10 per hour) for members and $30 ($15 per hour) for non-members. Junior Rally Pass holders and Junior Open Play Pass holders will have their open play covered by their Pass.

Can Juniors play in adult open play?

We recognize that there are juniors who play at a high level. Juniors who have been individually pre-approved by Palms staff can play in adult open play hours. Otherwise, juniors can play during junior and family open play, junior leagues and on court reservations. Juniors can also play during any junior-oriented events, clinics or classes.

Can I hire a coach to provide private lessons for my junior?

Can juniors make court reservations?

Yes! Juniors can reserve a court and play with other juniors, their parents or anyone they might wish to compete with.

Yes! We do have Junior age-based leagues that will begin later this fall.

What are the Early Bird perks for juniors who joined before 7.15.26?

Junior members Early Bird Perks are outlined below:

  • As an Early Bird Junior member, enjoy one free open play session, AND a fun new Palms t-shirt!
  • Get to know your new pickleball peeps – Join us at two FREE members-only summer events: Pickle at the Palms Open Play Date and Super Fun Social Mixer – Magnolia Courts, June 27, 2026 (thanks to those who came!) AND the Sneak Peek Building Tour + Member Party! – at Pickle at the Palms in the late summer – date to be announced in July.
  • Opportunity to be first in line for fall reservations! Reservations for fall clinics and other programming will be available to members in July. Court reservations and open play reservations will be available to members in August, 2026. Only registered members will be able to access these early reservations.
