Popping up around Seattle this Summer!

June, 2026

This is my first opportunity to write to you since we began membership sales. We’re delighted to hear excitement from the community and we’ve had a great response already! Remember, Early Bird perks end on July 15th so be sure to grab your membership before that date!

As we move closer toward our August opening, our team is also kicking off a full summer of community activations around Seattle. From neighborhood events and farmers markets to pop-up pickleball socials and local partnerships, we’re looking forward to connecting with all of you before the doors officially open.

The support we’ve already received from this community has been incredible, and we truly appreciate everyone who has joined us early in this journey. We hope to see many of you out and about this summer as we continue building momentum toward opening day.

See you on the courts soon,
Kyle

Construction Update

it’s moving fast! August is coming.

Can you feel it? We can! PIckle at the Palms is coming! May was a very busy month for the Sellen team, and the building is really starting to come to life on the inside (and the outside too)! We’re often asked if the building will really be done in August, and the answer is a resounding YES. This past week alone, Sellen had between 50-70 people on site working at any given time. That’s a lot of talented tradespeople!

The first photo below gives a nice snapshot of the upper level of courts while walking down the corridor between the courts. In this photo you can see the fence posts that will be the stabilizing source of fencing around each court, and you can also see pads on the building’s columns. The lights shining toward the camera are construction lights (not permanent). In the second photo, the permanent lighting is being installed. Court illumination has been designed to provide diffused light with zero glare and excellent play visibility. Think light + bright!

The third photo also highlights the acoustical panels that cover the ceiling of both levels of courts. These are the 8 foot long gray panels you see recessed in the ceiling. The acoustical engineers spent a significant amount of time considering the happy sound of pickleballs at play. The result? The acoustical panels at The Palms will dampen that pinging sound by over 50%. Happy ears!

The fourth photo gives a good look at the gray pads that cover the walls adjacent to the courts. Yes you CAN do that ATP at The Palms! Below you’ll discover The Palms parking lot, gearing up for pavement. Hooray for over 50 free parking spots!

And hey, check out the lobby and Pro Shop! It’s really coming along. In the sixth photo you can see the entry doors, the front desk under construction and a portion of the shelving for Palms branded merch, paddles, gear and more!

Looking ahead: Court surfacing is underway! Creating the courts involves the application of many layers. So it will take a bit before the courts start looking like courts! The appliances for Mainstay Provisions at The Palms are being moved into place, and plumbing fixtures will be installed. June brings us another month of precise coordination and forward movement for Team Sellen: exactly what they are good at! We’re getting really close!

Membership FAQ’s

questions we are being asked, and the answers too!

If you missed our membership introduction on May 6, don’t worry. You have time! Our Early BIrd Perks incentive ends July 15th. Purchase your membership before then and enjoy a pack of particularly perfect pickleball perks! Scroll down a bit for the details. In the meantime though, if you have questions…we have answers! Onto the FAQs!

Open play is my favorite way to pickle – I like meeting new people. But I don’t like waiting to play. How will this work at The Palms?
Open play will be available every day as two hour sessions. Open play at The Palms is structured – either as social play or as level-based play. In either option, open play courts are limited to 6 players to ensure that everyone gets to play a lot! Open play costs $20 for members.

When will leagues start? Will members have discounted rates and a longer lead time to register? Level-based leagues for men, women, coed-play and juniors will all begin in September. Members can register 45 days in advance for all leagues. Members always receive lower pricing, and can anticipate a savings of around 20%. League dates, times and pricing will be available in July.

How about clinics? When will they begin? Will members receive a discount on learning programs too? Clinics, lessons, competitive and learning events alike will all begin in September. Members who sign up during the Early Bird timeframe (by July 15) will have first dibs on registration for fall programs. And yes, members will always pay discounted member rates to play or learn at The Palms.

I see that The Palms offers a Junior membership. Do you have a family membership? How about family programs? Every membership at The Palms is an individual membership, for adults (18+) or juniors (5-17). Family members are then linked within our operating system to make reservations and future payment simple. We are very excited to introduce our fall family programs which will include family open play, junior leagues, Dink + Dine Sideline Suppers and more! Visit our Juniors + Family page for more information.

Have another question? Check the FAQs section of our Membership page onThe Palms website or send us a question at hello@pickleatthepalms.com We’ll be delighted to hear from you!

The Palms Team – Out and About

It’s summer!

When we first envisioned The Palms, one thing was very clear to us: we wanted to be a place for the community to gather. As our building isn’t quite done, what better way to begin creating community than to take pickleball out TO the community? This summer you’ll find us popping up all over! Last weekend we were at Seattle Pride in the Park and at the Magnolia Farmers Market. In May we helped introduce a new season of the Queen Anne Farmers Market, and you can play with one of our Dink Nets in the games area at the Queen Anne Market every week! Here’s what’s next!

PLAY PICKLEBALL WITH US
ON QUEEN ANNE HILL!
TOMORROW!
Saturday, June 13 – It’s time to be a tourist in your own town! Come to the Discover Queen Anne event on the top o’ the hill and play pickleball with us! There is no cost to participate. We’ll have a full court set up as well as a Dink Net for kiddos (or adults!) to play with right on W. Crawford Street in the middle of the Queen Anne retail district. Play open play, engage in a few fun contests, win prizes, listen to some tunes and play in a fun, social environment. Check out the pickleball schedule for Saturday the 13th on our website.
