Newsletter: National Pickleball Month + Interior Renderings!

Happy National Pickleball Month!

April, 2026

It’s National Pickleball Month, and to celebrate we’re welcoming everyone to take a first look inside Pickle at The Palms. It’s a virtual reality peek, but our new renderings really bring the space to life and give you a feel for what’s coming this summer. We’re excited and we hope you are too!

We’re also in the final stages of building our website and preparing to introduce memberships: two big steps toward opening our doors and sharing the full Palms experience.

As always, we’re sharing this new news with our Rally Ready Crew first. We truly value that you have joined us for this journey. Thank you for following along!

There’s much more to come in the next several weeks. Stay tuned! We can’t wait to share more!

See you on the courts soon,
Kyle

Walls, a roof and a bit of glass too?

We don’t give a dink about the rain.

At The Palms we are very close to not worrying about those April showers that are famous for bringing May flowers. By the end of this month, our building will be fully enclosed and dry like a summer day in Seattle.

The Kingspan panels (those metal panels that form the exterior of the building) are almost fully installed, and the roof is being constructed as you read this update.

We’ve had some questions about the building exterior’s current lack of fashion sense. No need to worry. That large expanse of gray panel will soon be a lovely backdrop for a vibrant mural, inspired by the dynamism of pickleball. The dimensional mural, a fabulous piece by local artist Sam Wood Wilson, will be installed beginning in mid-May. Keep your eyes peeled!

In addition to the exterior work, framing has begun in the two “wings” located at either end of the court structure. The wings are where amenities such as Mainstay Provisions at The Palms, restrooms, showers, The ProShop and lobby are located. You can see the lobby progress in one of the photos below.

An additional photo below is taken from inside the first floor of courts looking back at the lobby and The Loft lounge above it. You can see what this view will look like in the renderings below (scroll down)!

Looking ahead: With a watertight building to work in, interior construction begins in earnest. In May we’ll begin the process of court surfacing. Hooray! Pickleball fans can look forward to experiencing a plexi cushion court surface which is a blend of rubber and paint. The courts will be easier on our all important human joints while creating better bounce consistency. Construction is expected to be complete this summer and we will open The Palms to our first players in August.

Want a sneak Palms peek?

Um, yes!?!?!

We’re four months away from opening our doors. AMAZING. It seems like it is time to show everyone what we’ve been working on. We’re SO excited and we hope you are too! Let’s take a walk through these first three renderings and look around a bit. Let’s GO!

Rendering #1 – Welcome to Pickle at the Palms everyone! The lobby and ProShop is the first thing you’ll see when you step in the door from our private parking lot. Say hello to our friendly team, try on a sweatshirt designed by a local artist, or watch the action on the courts.

Now, in the next rendering, imagine you are standing in the northwest corner of the first level of courts at The Palms, looking back toward the lobby and ProShop. Ahhh. Pickleball bliss, right? A few things to note:

  • Elbow room – Court dimensions are 34×60 feet. Plenty of space for that ATP you’ve been trying to master.
  • No glare but lots of light – No windows to blame for missing that shot. Consistent overhead lighting will help ensure that you don’t!
  • Acoustical love – A ceiling full of acoustical panels adorn the ceilings, designed by a team of engineers to dampen the beloved sound of pickleballs at play by over 50%.

Rendering #3 – Let’s zoom in, shall we? Of course we shall! In the rendering you can see the lobby and ProShop beyond the courts, and up above, there are some happy players hanging out in The Loft. The Loft is a relaxing lounge and event space. More on that space soon! (Yes! This is the image we referred to in the construction section – same view!) Now imagine you are standing in the middle of this image, on the courts just outside the lobby. The two courts adjacent to the lobby on level one, as well as those adjacent to the café on the upper level of courts, are Palms’ Premier Courts. While all 20 courts feature PlaySight technology, these four courts have additional tech tools.

Stay tuned for more Sneak Palms Peeks! They’re coming up!
