Feeling lucky in Interbay

March, 2026

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of feeling lucky.

Not the kind of luck you hope for when flipping a coin, but the kind that comes from being surrounded by the right people at the right moment. As we keep moving closer to opening Pickle at the Palms, I’ve had a lot of those moments.

This past week it’s been especially exciting to see the building really start to take shape. Watching the walls go up and the structure come together makes everything feel a little more real. For a long time this project has lived in drawings, plans, and conversations, but now we can actually see the space forming. Each new piece of the structure is another reminder that we’re getting closer to the day when the doors open and the courts fill with players.

We’re also feeling lucky because of the people helping to bring this vision to life: the partners, builders, instructors, and future members who are already leaning in and helping shape what Pickle at the Palms will become.

And of course, we’re lucky because of you, the people who will transform this place into a community – much more than just a building with courts.

Speaking of lucky pennies… we’d love to hear your thoughts in the quick survey below. Your feedback will help us shape programming, events, and the overall experience at the pickleball center.

Thanks for being part of this journey with us!

Rally ready,
Kyle

We have walls!

The start of walls…but still, walls!

We never need to worry about being pinched by a leprechaun as we’re almost always sporting Palms green caps and shirts (especially on St. Patty’s Day). But we’ll admit, we ARE pinching ourselves right now. It’s hard to believe how close we are to opening The Palms, three years after a pickleball idea sprouted like a shamrock in our minds.

The Sellen team is moving fast, and every single day we have more exterior wall panels. One group of installers is working on the west side of the building, while another installs panels on the east side of the building.

The courts portion of the building is bookended by two smaller structures that are home to The Palms’ amenities (Mainstay Provisions at The Palms, showers, restrooms, offices, lobby and Pro Shop). In the first photo below you can see the north structure wrapped in sheathing and peeking out from behind those stunning pink and green palm trees. The sheathing is a part of the process to dry-in the building. The second photo is of the southern structure.

The photo below is standing in that southern structure, looking south over our 53-stall parking lot and toward our neighbors at Axle Apartments.

Looking ahead: In the coming weeks The Palms will have more, yes, MORE wall panels! We’ll also be welcoming a handy element for those April showers – a roof. Then, with the building exterior sealed up, the team will begin constructing the interiors. We’re getting closer! Construction completion is scheduled for this summer, and we plan to welcome our first players in August. It’s exciting!

Juniors at The Palms

kids love pickleball. and we love kids!

Pickle at the Palms will be a center for everyone. And everyone includes kids!

The Palms will offer junior memberships (info coming soon!), junior camps and junior class series for kids ages 5 to 18. We’ll also have family play days and Sideline Suppers (aka dink + dine nights) that offer a fun new option for family game night!

Our junior programming will be built to support players at every stage, whether they’re picking up a paddle for the first time or looking for more structured training as they grow in the sport.

Here’s what you can expect for Palms Junior programs:

  • Age-based classes designed to introduce kids to the game in a fun and supportive way.
  • Skill-development programming that helps players build confidence and fundamentals.
  • Progressive training opportunities for juniors who want to continue improving.
  • High-performance training pathways for more competitive players.
  • A social, active and FUN environment that keeps kids engaged and excited about coming to the courts.

We can’t wait to welcome the next generation to The Palms. We’ll have more information to share as we get closer to opening, so be sure to stay tuned!

Does that family in the photo seem familiar? That’s the crew behind Mainstay Provisions at The Palms, gearing up to play some pickleball!
